We are enjoying this Fall Florida weather…aka I got to wear my denim jacket, but still warm enough to keep on the open toe shoes. It’s the crisp days that get me all excited. Makes you want to spend every moment of the day outside doing something fun…or swing in a hammock.
Today we finally ventured back to church for the first time since a few weeks before Brinlee was born. We avoided service for a while so we didn’t get sick before Brinlee’s due date. It seemed like every time Mason would go to Sunday school he would take home some other kid’s cold. Luckily our church streams services live so we were able to watch from home.
Today’s service focused on 1 Peter, Chapter 2…which was pretty convenient since verses 1-3 mention how newborn babies are pure and how we need to rid ourselves of all the hate, negativity and sin in our life so we can focus on God’s word. It was a really good reminder of what’s important in this life and that material things are not going to make you happy at the end of each day.
I was listening to the service today and looking at my happy baby girl. She is full of so much innocence and has no idea what the world is made of. A lot of beauty in this world, but also so much temptation and evil. It was neat that today’s sermon related to Brinlee and our hopes to raise her with a strong foundation of faith. I guess you can say our hopes are evident when Brinlee’s middle name is Faith.
We’re so happy to start our Sunday traditions again. Also, Mason graduated from the walkers room to now the 2 Year Old’s room! Before the church service started Brinlee decided she wanted to poop and stink up the pew…get it ‘pew’ (you’re welcome for the pun of the day). In order to change her diaper I had to go back to Mason’s room and get a diaper from our baby bag. I saw that he was the only kiddo locked in a stroller. Found out he was running all around the large room entertaining himself. But, he was just happy as can be in the stroller…eating his animal crackers and watching a cute child’s video.
Oh how the Sunday church adventures never seem to disappoint! One day Mason is stinking up the room with his own aroma, then the next he’s running around like a crazy person while Brinlee takes her turn for smell. Well…as long as it’s in the house of G-O-D then we’re good. Can I get an Amen!
1 Peter 2:1-3 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
